Tootinaowaziibeeng – Valley River First Nation Drainage and Culvert Install
North Island has worked with Chief and Council of Tootinaowaziibeeng “Valley River” First Nation for over 8 years. Sadly most recent they were stuck with major flooding of the Valley River due to collapsed and undersized culverts. This washed out their main access road. While this road was uncrossable Emergency Vehicles, School Buses and Water trucks had to detour over 75km down roads not designed to handle the weight and the traffic. North Island worked tirelessly to remove the failed culverts and re-open the main road. As soon as this was completed we targeted other problematic areas on the First Nation. To date they have not had any road closers due to flooding.
